NEGUSE: WE MUST UPHOLD OUR OATH OF OFFICE TO PROTECT OUR DEMOCRACY

DPCC Co-Chair Neguse Appeared on MSNBC, Saying the Former President Committed High Crimes for Which He Must Be Held Accountable

(Washington, DC) Congressman Joe Neguse (CO-02), Co-Chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC), appeared on MSNBC Live with Ayman Mohyeldin and The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC Monday. Neguse, also an impeachment manager, discussed the importance of holding former President Trump accountable for his crimes against our Democracy.

"Every Senator will take a solemn oath. My hope is that every Senator will ultimately adhere and fulfill that oath by applying an impartial lens to the facts and evidence that we present as managers. I believe that if they do so, they'll reach the same conclusion so many of my colleagues in the House and I – including the number three Republican, Liz Cheney – have reached, which is that this [former] President summoned a mob, he incited a mob, and he lit the flame of the attack that happened on January 6th. That was an impeachable offense, a high crime. And ultimately it warrants a conviction in the United States Senate. So I remain hopeful that they will rise to occasion and ultimately vote to convict," said Neguse.
