DPCC Co-Chair Appeared on CNN to Explain Why Congress Must Act in Wake of Violent Insurrection
(Washington, DC) – Congressman Joe Neguse (CO-02), Co-Chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, appeared on CNN Newsroom today to discuss constitutional duty of Congress to hold the President accountable.
"We have an obligation to discharge our oaths under the Constitution," said Neguse. "There's no question that this President has yet again betrayed his oath of office. I was in the Capitol, I was on the floor during the armed insurrection that developed outside of the Capitol, and ultimately that breached our Capitol doors. And I never imagined that we'd have a President who engaged in the type of incendiary rhetoric that would create that type of situation."
