LIEU: CAN'T PRETEND JANUARY 6TH ATTACK DIDN'T HAPPEN, WE MUST MAKE SURE WE PROTECT OUR DEMOCRACY
DPCC Co-Chair Ted Lieu Appeared on MSNBC
(Washington, DC) – Congressman Ted Lieu (CA-33), Co-Chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC), appeared on All In with Chris Hayes this week. Lieu emphasized that after the violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, convening a bipartisan Commission is necessary to prevent future attacks on our Democracy.
"George Orwell famously wrote that ‘the Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final most essential command.' Now you see multiple members of the Republican Party essentially distorting reality and simply trying to have people forget what happened on January 6th," said Lieu. "We can't have a functioning Democracy if people don't believe in the results of the vote. That is probably the most central part of our Democracy."
