DPCC COCHAIRS CALL ON REPUBLICAN LEADER TO DENOUNCE REP BROOKS’ DANGEROUS STATEMENT OF SYMPATHY FOR DOMESTIC TERRORISM
(Washington, DC) - House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC) Co-Chairs Matt Cartwright (PA-08), Debbie Dingell (MI-12), Ted Lieu (CA-33) and Joe Neguse (CO-02) are calling on House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy to denounce Congressman Mo Brooks’ dangerous statement expressing sympathy for domestic terrorism yesterday as law enforcement heroically worked to stop a threat outside the U.S. Capitol.
“As Capitol Police, FBI and other law enforcement risked their own lives to stop a threat to our nation’s Capital, Congressman Mo Brooks fanned the flames. We call on Leader McCarthy to denounce Mr. Brook’s expression of sympathy for domestic terrorism immediately,” said Cartwright, Dingell, Lieu and Neguse. “From spreading lies about the 2020 election which led to a violent insurrection, to spreading lies about COVID-19 which are making it harder to get Americans vaccinated, to Mr. Brooks’ latest expression of sympathy for domestic terrorism, Republicans’ repeated refusal to stand on the side of truth is dangerous.”
