WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Ted Lieu, Co-Chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC), appeared on Weekends With Alex Witt on MSNBC to discuss House Democrat's congressional oversight responsibilities. Lieu emphasized that House Democrats are fighting For the People to lower health care costs, rebuild America's infrastructure, and take on corruption in Washington. "Thank you, Alex, for your question. As an immigrant myself, I know that when we came to America, we were poor. My parents went to flee markets to sell gifts to make ends meet, and eventually they opened a successful small business. They achieved the American dream. It's one of the reasons I joined the Air Force and active duty never thought I would see the day when the President of the United States was telling immigrants to go back to from where we came from. Donald Trump once again demonstrates that he's a racist ass. He is dividing American's rather than unifying us, and I can't wait to see him leave the office of the President."
"I am pleased that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is going to give more time to be able to testify publicly in front of the American people. He will now testify for three hours before the house judiciary committee, and then two hours before the House Intel Committee. And the American people will see unfiltered Robert Mueller talking about the main highlights of his report. Which if you gave a fair reading to it, it would show that the Russians attacked us in 2016 in our elections. That the Trump campaign welcomed that interference, and then the President sought to obstruct on numerous instances the investigation into that interference."
