"When you read this report – I really wish Mueller would come up and testify. Because, I think a lot of people have a lot of questions. He told us to do our job and read this report. Well I did read this report…[there's] a repeated pattern [which] is that Russia is trying to divide us as a country. They are trying to attack the fundamental principles of our democracy. Our democracy is something that we have to cherish and protect…We're one community. And we're being divided by fear and hatred. My job is to protect this country, and keep it from being torn apart. But keep us as one country. That's what drives me in all of this, and it worries me. I remember being an intern during the Nixon impeachment. And I worked for a Republican Senator, Bob Griffin. And I remember watching him, I was on the plane with him the day he flew back here, and called for Richard Nixon. Said that something had to happen. He turned and said he was wrong. We need more Republicans to become involved in this. We need leadership on their side. This is something that can't be done in a partisan way."
