"I think what we want in this investigation is that Robert Mueller be protected, that he be able to complete his investigation. These are extraordinary professionals who are doing their job, this is a serious investigation. But what Democrats are focused on is what we can do to benefit the American people.

"We understand this investigation is going to continue and it's going to come to its conclusion and report to the American people. We all ought to be interested in that result – Republican, Democratic, Independent because this is about a foreign adversary interfering in our elections. But what Democrats are talking about, what we are really focused on is our agenda of how we improve the lives of the American people. It is sometimes challenging to get coverage of that because there is a lot of interest in the tweet of the day, the Presidents antics. You know, he benefits from some of this chaos because I think he understands that if people focus on what Democrats are proposing and what we're fighting for – we'll go back into the majority because these are the issues Americans care about.

"They care about raising their family incomes, they care about the ability to pay for their prescription drugs, the solvency of Medicare and Social Security, making college more affordable, rebuilding our infrastructure. Those are the issues Democrats are talking about. We have a better deal than the raw deal that Republicans are giving this Congress. And I think, when people see that contrast we're going to win and we saw it last night. We're seeing really good enthusiasm from Democratic voters because they understand what is at stake in this election."
