DPCC Co-Chair Cartwright: Democrats Are Holding the Administration Accountable While Fighting For the People to Lower Health Care Costs
WASHINGTON – Congressman Matt Cartwright (D-PA), Co-Chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC), appeared on Sunday Morning Futures on FOX News to discuss legislation House Democrats have passed since taking control of Congress to lower health care costs, rebuild America’s infrastructure and clean up corruption in Washington. Democrats are fighting For the People while holding the Administration accountable and conducting congressional oversight. Over the weekend, more than 140 Democrats held events or online town halls to talk about health care and efforts to protect people with preexisting conditions and lower drug prices. “Republicans can walk and chew gum at the same time and so can Democrats. So while we do have those hearings to explain what was in the Mueller report, we're passing legislation that helps Americans with health care and infrastructure and bringing down the cost of pharmaceutical medications. We can walk and chew gum and we're doing that.
“So when people get polled, ‘Well, are the Democrats doing enough on other things?’ maybe it's because we haven't been thumping our chests enough about all of the great bills we've been passing.”
