"I think it's hard to read that report and not come to a conclusion that the President has committed offenses that are impeachable. We know obstruction of justice is one of them. . . In addition to the President's behavior that is detailed in the Mueller report, trying to convince witnesses to lie, trying to fire the special counsel, and the list goes on and on. The President has also since the release of that report engaged in an ongoing cover up to try to prevent Congress from getting all of the facts and getting to the truth, and acting as if he is above the law. And no one in this country, including the President of the United States is above the law.
"The President of the United States is not above the law. We were elected to hold him accountable, that is our constitutional duty. And, it's a very dangerous precedent, in my view, if we don't fulfill that responsibility and we allow this lawless President to continue to engage in misconduct."
"It's really important to make this point. We passed 100 pieces of legislation to drive down the cost of prescription drugs, to guarantee equal pay for equal work, passing the equality act, universal background checks. We're getting the work done for the American people. We also have to hold this administration accountable and we have do to do both things."
