DINGELL: WE NEED TO WORK TOGETHER TO GET ANTI-EVICTION MONEY FLOWING

DPCC Co-Chair Debbie Dingell Appeared on MSNBC

(Washington, DC) Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12), Co-Chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC), appeared on Way Too Early on MSNBC Monday. Dingell emphasized the need for Congress and the federal government to work together with state and local governments to disburse anti-eviction funds from the American Rescue Plan to tenants and landlords immediately so families can stay in their homes.

“We were in a very real crisis this weekend as the eviction moratorium expired. But we’ve allocated $47 billion to help people and only $3 billion has gone out. The fact of the matter is the Treasury Department has to get that money out, states have to figure out how they’re going to get it out faster, and counties that are working on this have to simplify the bureaucracy,” said Dingell
