DINGELL: STRENGTHENING OUR INFRASTRUCTURE WILL HELP FAMILIES GET BACK TO WORK
DPCC Co-Chair Debbie Dingell Appeared on MSNBC
(Washington, DC) – Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12), Co-Chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC), appeared on The Week with Joshua Johnson on MSNBC Sunday. Rep. Dingell discussed how strengthening our infrastructure will help families—especially women— get back to work and help boost our economy while building better lives for their families.
"We're one of the only industrialized Nations in the world that doesn't have a long-term care program. These are issues that we really have to deal with because the fact of the matter is we've seen almost 3 million women have to leave workforce because of issues like caregiving. It would be nice to take a paintbrush and paint it all as ‘these are just people who don't want to work.' I know a whole lot of people who are desperate to get back to work, who want to see schools open, who want to see that economic income coming back in for their families," said Dingell.
