100+ DEMS HONOR HOMETOWN HEROES AS "VIRTUAL GUESTS" FOR STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS

House and Senate DPCC – Chaired By Cartwright, Dingell, Lieu, Neguse, Stabenow – Lead Effort to Uplift American Hometown Heroes Who Embody Their Work with President Biden to Build a Better America


(Washington, DC)More than 100 House and Senate Democrats honored Hometown Heroes as their "virtual guests" to President Biden's State of the Union Address on Tuesday. Members uplifted stories of America's Hometown Heroes whose hard work has fueled our nation's historic recovery and is helping us Build a Better America.

The effort was led byHouseand SenateDemocratic Policy & Communications Committees (DPCC) – Chaired by Reps. Matt Cartwright (PA-08), Debbie Dingell (MI-12), Ted Lieu (CA-33) and Joe Neguse (CO-02) in the House and Sen. Debbie Stabenow (MI) in the Senate. While safety protocols meant this year's in-person attendance was limited, the DPCC leaders say naming virtual guests was an important way for Democrats to honor hardworking men and women across the country who are fueling America's recovery.
